Grows on higher ground, particularly saline inundated areas. It is easily identified from its reddish brown bark of the stain, thick obovate leaves, white flowers and woody compressed fruits.
Stem fluid is used to treat itches and herpes also insulin disorders. Leaf extract is used against joint injury.
